c1897 1415 N. Main Street, Honesdale Not much is known about Sarah Miller except that she was never married and was the sister-in-law of Edwin Torrey, the grandson of Jason Torrey. Miss Miller lived for 18 years until her death in 1915, at which time her sister, Julia Miller Torrey, sold the house to Sarah's niece, Louise Edgar. Louise never married and lived in the house until 1930, when she sold it to Edmund J. Stegner, who ran a bakery. Architectural style: Victorian, Queen Anne.
From 1993 through 2008 the Honesdale National Bank published an annual wall calendar, each featured 13 historic sites. The sites were chosen and researched by a committee of the historical society and artwork was commissioned to Judy Hunt and William Amptman by the bank.
This page was one month of the calendar and was made possible through the Wayne County Commissioners and a Tourism Promotion Committee’s Tourism Grant.
