11th Annual Canal Festival

Join Us for the 11th Annual Canal Festival!

We invite you to join us for a day filled with history and fun at the 11th Annual Canal Festival on Saturday, August 17, 2024, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. This free event celebrates the rich heritage of the canal era and promises a memorable experience for all ages.

Event Highlights:

  • Live Music: Enjoy live performances featuring canal era music, sing-alongs, and Native American melodies.
  • Interactive Demonstrations: Experience blacksmithing, weaving, spinning, wood carving, quilting, and more.
  • Guided Tours: Explore the towpath with guided walking tours that delve into the canal's history.
  • Activities for Children: Kids can join in a history passport activity and participate in an archaeological dig.
  • Historical Exhibits: Learn from exhibits showcasing the canal's significance and impact.
  • Canal Store and Food: Visit the canal store, savor delicious food options, and treat yourself at the old-fashioned bake sale.

Get Involved: We welcome volunteers to help make this event a success! If you're interested, please email Sally Talaga at sltalaga@gmail.com, and she find a role that suits you. Volunteers get to enjoy the festival too!
