Starlight Lake, Buckingham Township The cottage named "Bonnie Brier" by the owners is located alongside Starlight Lake. It is owned by Edward Maybeck and was constructed in 1896 by his great grandfather Edward B. Tarbox of Hancock, New York. "Bonnie Brier" is a beautiful Adirondack-style cottage. Both the lower and upper stories have porches with posts made from small trees. Latticework surrounds the open frame porches on both levels. The wooden siding is painted green; the lattice-work and posts are white. The roof is covered with rose-colored shingles. The colors as well as the construction make "Bonnie Brier" a very striking cottage. The six-room cottage has a masonry fireplace that eliminates the dampness that comes across the lake. This has been a get-away cottage for the family for over one hundred years. Seldom do we find a summer retreat this age to be in such pristine condition. The Edward Maybeck family can be very proud of "Bonnie Brier," which the grandfather constructed so long ago.

From 1993 through 2008 the Honesdale National Bank published an annual wall calendar, each featured 13 historic sites. The sites were chosen and researched by a committee of the historical society and artwork was commissioned to Judy Hunt and William Amptman by the bank.
