2025 Historic Preservation Award Nominations

22 december, 2024.png

Attention all history buffs and preservation enthusiasts! Did you know that the Wayne County Historical Society has recognized exceptional building owners for their outstanding efforts in preserving their buildings since 1993? That's right! The preservation of a building can include conservation, renovation, restoration, rehabilitation, or adaptive reuse.

By following the US Department of the Interior's guidelines for historic preservation, we present awards to projects that have gone above and beyond in preserving their history. We seek deserving buildings, projects, or individuals who have significantly contributed to preserving the past. So, if you know of someone or something that deserves to be recognized, we would love to hear from you! Just apply and let us know how they've excelled in preserving their historical significance. Don't miss out on this opportunity to showcase your passion for preservation!

If you're looking for Historic Preservation Guidelines, you can find them at https://www.nps.gov/subjects/historicpreservation/standards.htm.

To get an application, you can go to the Main Museum at 810 Main Street, Honesdale. Alternatively, you can download it from https://www.waynehistorypa.com/places/hpawards. Once you've filled in the form, you can submit it by dropping it off, emailing it to samiller@waynehistorypa.com, or mailing it to PO Box 446, Honesdale, PA 18431.
