Wayne County Historical Society Museum Winter Hours Announcement
Seasonal Hours and Spring Open House at the Main Museum

The Wayne County Historical Society is pleased to announce its winter hours for the Main Museum, at 810 Main Street, Honesdale. During January, February, March, and April, the museum will be open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

If you would like to make an appointment with the Research Librarian, please call 570-253-3240 and leave a message with the date and time you would like to come to the museum. 

Starting May 2, 2026, the Main Museum will extend its hours and be open four days a week: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Join us for our Spring Open House on Saturday, May 2, 2026, to celebrate and explore Wayne County's rich history! We look forward to welcoming visitors to the museum.

Welcome to the Wayne County Historical Society, home of the full-size replica of the Stourbridge Lion, the first locomotive to run on commercial track in the United States.

Our main museum and museum shop are housed in a building built in 1860 as headquarters of the Delaware & Hudson Canal Company....click here for more information.
